You – “Hey! How are you today?”
Friend – “Not bad…”
Have an impression of déjà-vu when reading this? Maybe you were the one answering “Not bad…”
Why so negative?!
I have a confession to make… I have somehow a tendency to be very negative when it comes to facing challenges and my fat loss journey has been no exception. In fact, I think it’s one of the reasons why I failed so far to get back in shape. Especially when I have a situation like a fat loss program where the beginnings (yes, with a S because I’ve had so many “starts” of fat lost journey
) are really emotional. The cravings, the physical and mental fatigue, the change in schedule, change of bad habits, etc.
So in the last couple of weeks, I did a quick test. Every time someone’s asking me how I’m doing… I simply answer: “I’m doing very well…”. Even if it’s not always the case!
I’m no psychology expert but I feel so much better when doing this. It seems like my brain is somehow setting up my mood as per what I say. The days pass by and I feel happier every time I’m more positive about small simple details like answering a“How are you?” question… That’s a great feeling!
What does it have to do with my fat loss journey? Well… everything!
You missed training… well… That’s fine… Take it as a break you needed and get back to bust your ass in the gym now!
You ate like a trash can today… That’s fine… Now get in the kitchen… sip a little glass of wine, play some of your favorite music and cook the healthiest meal you’ve ever done!
Your friends are not really helping drinking booze every weekend… That’s fine… Be the leader and invite them to join your journey! Start your own Boot Camp…
You see, whatever the situation you’re facing, whatever you’ve done in the past… Find a way to turn negative into positive… Any successful people will agree on that.
So instead of going for the “Not bad”, go for a … “Very good!” or the “Very well!”…
Be a positive person and things will start to change!
All the best!
Be positive, train hard and have fun!
Ty
